Relatives have alleged that the drastic step was taken owing to never ending torture meted out by her jihadi husband. Sources indicate that 23 year old Surya alias Malu, a native of Paruthippalli, was subject to brutalities by Arshad and his relatives, to convert her to Islam.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>According to relatives, Arshad was an auto driver who ensnared her by wooing her five years ago, when the victim was doing her final year graduation. \u201cShe however realized that his display of affections was sheer hoax soon after marriage. Soon after marriage she was constantly subject to extreme pressures from Arshad and his relatives, to get her converted to Islam. She refused following which Arshad, along with his parents, brother and sister in law began torturing her physically,\u201d said relatives making it clear that Surya, unable to withstand the Jihadi\u2019s tortures, had made many previous suicide attempts.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1443\" src=\"http:\/\/i2.wp.com\/internethindu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/8-3.png?resize=261,300\" alt=\"8\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Surya, meantime, bore Arshad two children- three year old Alfiya and one year old Aadil. \u201cArshad and his relatives were hell bent on giving the children Islamic names, which she did not resist, owing to extreme tortures.<\/p>\n<p>According to relatives, even though decision on the names of children were taken, Arshad\u2019s relatives were unrelenting regarding Surya\u2019s religious preferences. \u201cEven though she fled to her mother\u2019s home, he reached there too. He would be under the influence of alcohol and used to torture Surya and her mother for dowry, which they obviously could never afford.
