A gang of 20-25 Muslim youth first assaulted some Hindu children and when accosted by the childrens\u2019 family members, they assaulted the adults too & pelted bricks & stones on their houses.\u00a0This incident occurred on the night of Jan 8 in Srinivaspuri, a colony in South East Delhi.<\/p>\n

Several people were injured in the stone pelting and\u00a0many vehicles & property were also damaged.\u00a0Shops in the area were hurriedly shut down. The assault came to an end after police intervention & injured were taken to hospital. A few youth have been arrested by police.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The map of where this brazen assault took place shows that this locality falls in the heart of Delhi, near prominent areas like Lajpat Nagar & New Friends Colony \u2013<\/p>\n

According to police sources, the fight started around 8 PM near \u2018Aunty ka Dhhaba\u2019<\/em>\u00a0in the private colony of Srinivaspuri. One of the victim women, Jagan, told that a\u00a0group of 20-25 Muslim youth\u00a0<\/strong>always loitered as a gang in the area.\u00a0Children of the colony were beaten by them\u00a0<\/strong>on Monday.\u00a0The goons then went on to fight with the family members of these children<\/strong>\u00a0after being questioned for beating the children. Mukul, Ramesh, Aman and several other people got injured during the assault.<\/div>\n

Locals alleged that the main culprits have not been arrested yet.\u00a0The goons are openly threatening the residents<\/strong>\u00a0which has created an environment of fear and tension in the area. Heavy police force has been deployed in the area as a precautionary measure.<\/div>\n
