Barua, Associate DOSW (Students Activities)\u00a0Indian Institute of Technology\u00a0(IIT) Roorkee, told IANS on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Besides these, many other initiatives were adopted with 75 companies sponsoring the festival that began here on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>In collaboration with\u00a0Uttarakhand\u00a0Renewable Energy Development\u00a0Agency, under its social initiative programme &#8220;Let&#8217;s Eliminate Darkness&#8221;, the students also distributed LED bulbs in remote regions of\u00a0Kundi\u00a0and Lakhnauta in\u00a0Uttarakhand.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We distributed 46 LED bulbs in\u00a0Kundi\u00a0district and 72 in Lakhnauta village with the aim to eliminate darkness from these areas,&#8221; Barua said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think we have to use advancements in technology and the capabilities of international majors to deploy solutions which can brighten the lives of our countrymen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said\u00a0Cognizance\u00a0is an initiative to aware people from across the country to consider it as a sacred duty, give support and contribute their time and efforts toward this mission.<\/p>\n<p>IIT\u00a0Roorkee\u00a0Director\u00a0Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi\u00a0said\u00a0Cognizance\u00a0was a platform aimed at enhancing entrepreneurship skill among students.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Becoming a successful\u00a0entrepreneur\u00a0requires concentration, innovation and communication&#8230; all these essential skills students learn at the tech fest,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>(Umer Rashid is in\u00a0<a class=\"storyTags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/search?type=news&amp;q=roorkee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Roorkee\u00a0<\/a>at the invitation of\u00a0<a class=\"storyTags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/search?type=news&amp;q=cognizance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cognizance\u00a0<\/a>organisers.
