Two of his associates were injured.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/city\/agra\/mathura-cattle-smuggler-killed-two-injured-in-police-encounter\/articleshow\/74657137.cms\">Circle Officer Jagdish Kaliram<\/a> said the incident occurred at the KD Medical police outpost \u2013 close to the Delhi-Agra highway \u2013 around 2.30 am. \u201cA routine barrier had been put up at NH 2 and checking was taking place,\u201d said Dr Gaurav Grover, SSP Mathura. \u201cA speeding Bolero [pickup truck] drove past the barrier. The police began pursuit. Once cornered, the accused opened fire and we retaliated. Three of the accused were injured.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Two constables were also wounded in the incident. A  24-year-old gunman identified as Afsar bled to death as he took a bullet to his leg in the police encounter. The police arrested two men, identified as Irfan, 24, and 26-year-old Saadiq, from the spot.
