{"id":119525,"date":"2017-03-01T17:45:32","date_gmt":"2017-03-01T12:15:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/globalpress.hinduismnow.org\/?p=43122"},"modified":"2017-03-01T17:45:32","modified_gmt":"2017-03-01T12:15:32","slug":"taking-meditation-music-closer-people-hindu-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalpress-new.hinduismnow.org\/?p=119525","title":{"rendered":"Taking meditation, music closer to people | The Hindu"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content-body-14269002-17386344\">\n<p>In a step towards bringing music and meditation closer to one\u2019s heart and making them an integral part of life, a campaign &#8212; Para the supreme &#8212; has been launched by Carnatic vocalist Pantula Rama along with her disciples in the city.<\/p>\n<p>Terming the objectives of \u2018Para\u2019 a well-designed ones to draw the attention of people from all sections and introduce them to the domain of arts, Dr. Pantula Rama says a plethora of activities form a part it.<\/p>\n<p>The first step in line with the project is \u2018Swachh Swar\u2019, a two-day learning camp, which will be organised on March 3 and 4.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 670px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/cities\/Visakhapatnam\/article17386343.ece\/alternates\/FREE_660\/01VZVOCAL\" width=\"660\" height=\"481\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">On a mission: Carnatic vocalist Pantula Rama.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A team of experts will train the participants in \u2018Sapta swaras\u2019&#8211; seven notes of music and simplest way to meditate. \u201cWhile meditation techniques will be taught by Gopala Krishna, founder and CEO of Spiritual Tablets Research Foundation, I will impart basic concepts of music to the participants along with my disciples. \u2018Sangeetam\u2019 (music) and \u2018dhyanam\u2019 (meditation) are the two key components that keep one\u2019s mind stress-free. The prime focus is to enable people learn, recognise, sing <em>swaras<\/em> and experiment with subtle variations. When you learn to sing and meditate in an appropriate manner, you are sure to strike a harmonious chord in life,\u201d Dr. Pantula Rama has told <em>The Hindu<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Online courses<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The free learning camp is scheduled to begin from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kalabharathi Auditorium on Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Participants will have access to a list of music teachers located in various neighbourhoods where they can learn music further.
