{"id":11956,"date":"2016-07-20T06:04:34","date_gmt":"2016-07-20T06:04:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/globalpress.hinduismnow.org?p=11953&amp;preview_id=11953"},"modified":"2016-07-20T06:04:34","modified_gmt":"2016-07-20T06:04:34","slug":"enthusiasm-religious-fervour-mark-guru-purnima","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalpress-new.hinduismnow.org\/?p=11956","title":{"rendered":"Enthusiasm, religious fervour mark Guru Purnima &#8211; The Hindu"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"body\">Guru Purnima, the birthday of epic Mahabharata author Vedavyasa, was celebrated with traditional enthusiasm and religious fervour across Prakasam district on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body\">With prayers on their lips, devotees, including a large number of women, visited temples to seek the blessings of spiritual gurus with reverence in keeping with the tradition to honour sage Vyasa, the compiler of the four Vedas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body\">Transport Minister Sidda Raghava Rao joined the large number of devotees in offering worship at the famous Sai Baba temple at Lawyerpet here.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body\">Devotees stood in serpentine queues in front of the temples of Sai Baba at Santhapet, Pelluru, Aluru and N.G.Padu on the full moon day of the holy month of <i>Ashadham <\/i>for <i>Pada Darshan <\/i>of the spiritual guru on the occasion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body\">A heavy rush of devotees was also witnessed at the Pelluru Sai Baba temple which has a life-size idol of Sai Baba chiselled from marble procured from Italy by Rajiv Harish Talim, the grandson of Balaji Wasanth Talim who had carved the idol in Shirdi.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guru Purnima, the birthday of epic Mahabharata author Vedavyasa, was celebrated with traditional enthusiasm and religious fervour across Prakasam district on Tuesday.
