Bhola, Bangladesh<\/strong>: In less than 8 months, anti Hindu riots has emerged in Bhola as a serious issue once again. Radicalized Muslims launched an attack on shop of a Hindu youth after taking offence over his Facebook post. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police tried to quell the protest and in the process four persons were injured. This is repeat of October 2019 incident in which 4 persons were killed in mass riots against Hindus<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Oct 20 last year, around four people died in clashes with police during a protest in Bhola\u2019s Borhanuddin over a Facebook post from a Hindu man\u2019s account, which was later found to have been hacked. The angry protesters had also attacked Hindu homes and temples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monpura OC Shakhawat said that, after Juma prayers Muslim worshippers gathered at Chowmohoni Bazar at Ramnewaz Mosque, Kauarpar Killartek Mosque and Chowmohoni Mosque in protest against the social media post made on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of the protesters launched an attack on the Hindu man\u2019s fish shop at Chowmohoni, he said. Clashes erupted when the police tried to stop the attackers, the OC said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The police fired 20 shots in the air to scare the protesters during the clashes that continued for around an hour, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monpura Upazila council Chairperson Selina Akter Chowdhury, Upazila Executive Officer Bipul Chandra Das and Ramnewaz union council Chairman Amanat Ulla Alamgir later visited the site and tried to calm the protesters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The injured people were residents of Monpura, OC Shakhawat said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UNO Bipul termed the incident \u201cunexpected\u201d. \u201cSome unruly people tried to instigate the others,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
