{"id":13727,"date":"2016-07-28T17:36:13","date_gmt":"2016-07-28T12:06:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/globalpress.hinduismnow.org?p=13724&amp;preview_id=13724"},"modified":"2016-07-28T17:36:13","modified_gmt":"2016-07-28T12:06:13","slug":"all-world-gayatri-pariwar-hosts-shivling-pran-pratishtha","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalpress-new.hinduismnow.org\/?p=13727","title":{"rendered":"All World Gayatri Pariwar Hosts \u2018Shivling Pran Pratishtha\u2019 |India West"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>ANAHEIM, Calif. \u2014 \u201cShivling Pran Pratishtha Samaroh,\u201d organized by the All World Gayatri Pariwar\u2019s Los Angeles branch under the auspices of ShantiKunj, Hardwar, was held at the Gayatri Chetna Center here during the day of Somvati Amavashay July 4.<\/p>\n<p>A Shiv Puran Katha was held July 1-3 with the celebrations of the main event July 4 commencing in the morning with the \u201cKalash Yatra.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>More than 200 women carried the sacred Kalash, Javaras, Gayatri Mantra Lekhan books and Shiv Mantra scriptures on their heads and went around the vicinity for 45 minutes to bring awareness to the community. The colorful procession was led by saints and officials with Indian and American flags.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Chinmaya Pandya, pro vice chancellor of SDPV at Shantikunj, conducted the ceremony of installation of \u201cShivling,\u201d or \u201cMahakal Sthapana,\u201d and performed the \u201cDus Snana\u201d to wash the Shivling.<\/p>\n<p>Ten pious ingredients were showered on it and clothes, \u201csamagri\u201d and \u201cprasad\u201d were offered. The second step was the \u201cPran sanchar\u201d while Pandya meditated to summon the cosmic energies of the Sun and Shiva into the Shivling.<\/p>\n<p>After the Shivling\u2019s aarti, the devotees went to the new adjoining building, which has been purchased for expansion of the activities of the Gayatri Center. Pandya inaugurated the building and new library by poojan and ribbon cutting.<\/p>\n<p>The library has thousands of books written by Gurudev Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharyaji, who has authored more than 3,200 books with translations of the four Vedas, Upanishads, Bhrahaman Granthas with scientific explanations of the Dharma, the duty toward self, society and the world at large.<\/p>\n<p>This was followed by 51 \u201cKundi Yagya\u201d and \u201cGuruPoornima Pujan\u201d for which a large pavilion, called the \u201cYagna Shala,\u201d was created, with saints seated at one end to instruct the devotees regarding rituals on the \u201cagni kund\u201d placed before them.<\/p>\n<p>Pandya was the main speaker and in his discourse he covered the concept of Gayatri Pariwar, which is to nurture a large growing family that constantly strives to think and do right.<\/p>\n<p>His emphasis was on the power of positive thought and the need for action through service and love, all of which he illustrated with anecdotes from the life of Gurudev.<\/p>\n<p>He also spoke on the benefits of the smoke of the \u201cyagna.\u201d Bhajans and mantras were sung by RajKumar Vaishnav on keyboard, Omkar Patidar on vocals and Pushkar Singh Raj on tabla.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cPurnahuti\u201d ritual, melodious chanting of Maha Mrutunjayay and Gayatri Mantras was followed by Maha Prasad.<\/p>\n<p>Mahesh Bhatt, coordinator of the Gayatri Consciousness Center, told <strong>India-West<\/strong> that there were 750 devotees on that day to participate in the rituals.<\/p>\n<p>They have been preparing for this event for three to four months and all rites have been planned in coordination with the headquarters in ShantiKunj, Hardwar, he noted.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ANAHEIM, Calif. \u2014 \u201cShivling Pran Pratishtha Samaroh,\u201d organized by the All World Gayatri Pariwar\u2019s Los Angeles branch under the auspices of ShantiKunj, Hardwar, was held at the Gayatri Chetna Center here during the day of Somvati Amavashay July 4.
