{"id":1489,"date":"2016-02-12T09:07:55","date_gmt":"2016-02-12T09:07:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/globalpress.hinduismnow.org?p=1486&amp;preview_id=1486"},"modified":"2016-02-12T09:07:55","modified_gmt":"2016-02-12T09:07:55","slug":"bangladesh-hindu-mans-beheading-highlights-minority-plight-ct","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalpress-new.hinduismnow.org\/?p=1489","title":{"rendered":"Bangladesh: Hindu man\u2019s beheading highlights minority plight &#8211; CT"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>Dhaka, February 12, 2016<\/strong>: Tarun Dutta (45) a Hindu businessman was brutally beheaded on 8th February\u00a02016 at Golapbag Bazar within Govindagonj Upazila of Gaibandha District in Bangladesh.<\/p>\n<p>His beheaded body and head were recovered from a ditch at Bardhankuti area and the man had a hardware business.<\/p>\n<p>The beheading is eerily similar to what happens under Taliban and it immediately brought minority Hindus out on streets who protested against this gruesome beheading.<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-1503\" src=\"http:\/\/globalpress.hinduismnow.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/02\/Capture69.png\" alt=\"Hindu, Bangladesh\" width=\"418\" height=\"380\" \/> Hindu man\u2019s beheading in Bangladesh draws ire from all corners<\/p>\n<p>To protest against the persecution, the local Bangladeshi Puja Ujjapan Parishad, Upazila Banik Samitee and common people demonstrated in front of local Sonali Bank and barricaded the streets and demanded the arrest of the murderers responsible for the brutal killing of Tarun Dutta.<\/p>\n<p>The local Member of the Parliament Prof Abul Kalam Azad and also Mr. Nazmul Hoque Tuku- President of the Upazila Banik Samitee have also demanded strict punishment for the perpetrators. The two also submitted a memorandum to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) for the immediate arrest of the perpetrators.<\/p>\n<p>As per the details that have been shared by the Bangladesh Minority Watch, on 8th February at about 6 a.m. Dutta went for a morning walk as per routine. But he did not return back and later on, his dead body without the head was traced to a ditch nearby.<\/p>\n<p>No arrests have been made till the writing of the report.<\/p>\n<p>Bangladesh Minority Watch spoke to Md.Faruk Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police, over his mobile and he confirmed that no perpetrators have been arrested.<\/p>\n<p>Md.
