{"id":18710,"date":"2016-09-01T09:39:20","date_gmt":"2016-09-01T04:09:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/globalpress.hinduismnow.org?p=18707&amp;preview_id=18707"},"modified":"2016-09-01T09:39:20","modified_gmt":"2016-09-01T04:09:20","slug":"government-taking-steps-to-restore-temple-lands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalpress-new.hinduismnow.org\/?p=18710","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Government taking steps to restore temple lands\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"body\">The State government is taking steps to identify and restore temple lands for which pattas were wrongly issued to private individuals and wrongly registered in the computerised chittas, according to the policy note of the HR &amp; CE Department tabled in the Assembly on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body\">The government has appointed nine retired Deputy Collectors, 19 retired Tahsildars, and 10 retired Surveyors on consolidated pay for this purpose, the note said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body\">\u201cIn 2015-16 alone, pattas of 1,034.21 acres of land belonging to 170 temples were ordered to be restored to the temples,\u201d the policy note said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body\">The government will also provide one more international standard cable car for Palani, following the success of the first cable car facility. \u201cAgreement has also been entered to provide new cable cars for Sholingur Arulmigu Lakshmi Narasimhaswami Temple, and Karur Ayyarmalai, Arulmigu Rathinagireeswarar Temple,\u201d according to the policy note.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body\">The government will also conduct Tamil training classes for Mauritius Tamils to enable them to write and speak Tamil, Sevoor S.
