Locals in the area&nbsp;caught hold&nbsp;of the accused Mohammad Sona and handed him over to the police, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hindupost.in\/news\/dalit-man-shot-dead-by-tablighi-jamaat-supporter-for-criticizing-the-organisation-over-coronavirus-spread\/\">Hindu Post <\/a>has reported.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>A Dalit man, Lautan Nishad, was&nbsp;shot dead&nbsp;by one Mohammad Sona outside a tea shop near Nishad\u2019s house in Prayagraj, UP after he allegedly criticized the Tablighi Jamaat for spreading coronavirus in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The incident took place at a tea stall in Prayagraj\u2019s Kareli area on Sunday morning when the victim Nishad allegedly made a remark against the Tablighi Jamaat congregation that occurred at the Nizamuddin Markaz in New Delhi last month.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>A whopping 30% of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hindupost.in\/news\/dalit-man-shot-dead-by-tablighi-jamaat-supporter-for-criticizing-the-organisation-over-coronavirus-spread\/\"> COVID19<\/a> cases in Bharat have been traced to those who attended the&nbsp;Tablighi Jamaat event&nbsp;which went ahead despite government appeals to avoid large gatherings, and which included over 1000 foreign preachers who violated their tourist visa to take part in religious proselytisation and preaching. Even after their event ended and a nationwide lockdown was announced, over 2000 Jamaatis continued to ignore government appeals to vacate their mosque in Nizamuddin and maintain social distancing norms.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Lautan Nishad died on the spot. Locals in the area&nbsp;caught hold&nbsp;of the accused Mohammad Sona and handed him over to the police.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the incident and announced Rs 5 lakh as compensation for the family of the deceased. Yogi Adityanath has also ordered that the accused be booked under the National Security Act (NSA). The Chief Minister has also sought an explanation as to why a tea stall was open during the lockdown, and ordered action against any police personnel found guilty.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>A total of 22,000 people linked to the Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi have been traced and quarantined across the country. In UP, the authorities have identified 1,302 people who attended the event and around 1,000 of them have been quarantined.&nbsp;Of them, 307 have been identified in Meerut, 242 in Varanasi, 230 in Gorakhpur, 148 in Bareilly, 115 in Agra, 83 in Lucknow, 51 in Prayagraj, 33 in Kanpur, 23 in Lucknow Commissionerate, and 70 in Noida, said&nbsp;Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Avnish Awasthi.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cTill now we have found cases related to Tableeghi Jamaat from 17 states, 1023 COVID-19 positive cases have been found to be linked to this event. Out of the total cases in the country, around 30 per cent are linked to one particular place,\u201d Health Ministry Joint&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hindupost.in\/news\/dalit-man-shot-dead-by-tablighi-jamaat-supporter-for-criticizing-the-organisation-over-coronavirus-spread\/\">Secretary<\/a> Lav Agarwal.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>While&nbsp;<em>India Today&nbsp;<\/em>has also&nbsp;reported&nbsp;on this crime, they have not disclosed the name of the deceased or the accused.
