The recommendation was part of the submissions that RSS-affiliated Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas (SSUN) has made various recommendations to the Ministry of Human Resource Development for the new education policy that is to be formulated soon.<\/p>\n<p>SSUN further said that the references that \u201cinsult Indian culture, tradition, sects, thoughts, eminent personalities and offer wrong explanations\u201d must be \u201cremoved from textbooks at all levels\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>According to media reports, the SSUN leaders have already met Indian HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar with their list of suggestions.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_24921\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-24921 secureimg_wp\" src=\"http:\/\/sikhsiyasat.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Prakash-Javadekar.jpg\" alt=\"India's HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar [File Photo]\" width=\"570\" height=\"327\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">India\u2019s HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar [File Photo]<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cAn October 14 email by an HRD official to the SSUN acknowledges that \u2018suggestions given by you have been noted down. They will be discussed during the formation of the new education policy\u2019 \u201d, notes the Indian Express (IE).<\/p>\n<p>Among the significant demands of the SSUN is the emphasis on Indian languages at all levels of education and gradual removal of English as a medium of instruction, both in private and government institutes. It said that the medium of instruction from elementary to higher levels in schools should be the mother tongue. Foreign languages should not be offered as an alternative to any Indian language at the school level.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has asked the government to \u2018immediately provide facilities to introduce education in Indian languages in English-medium institutions like IIT, IIM and NIT\u2019, and \u2018take legal action\u2019 against schools that prevent students from speaking in their mother tongue\u201d, notes the Indian Express (IE).<\/p>\n<p>On their meeting with Javadekar, SSUN founder and secretary Atul Kothari reportedly said: \u201cHe said we will certainly consider your suggestions. He also appreciated many suggestions.\u201d (IE).<\/p>\n<p>It has been the policy of RSS to oppose \u2018foreign languages (English)\u2019 and promote regional (RSS call it Indian) languages.
