Any belief that\nmakes us powerful is washing the brain.  Society has done years of\nbrain washing.  We need to question the answers we have to\ndistinguish between ideas or beliefs that makes us powerful versus\nthose that makes us powerless.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2>The\nimportance of the perception you have about you<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Your\nlife is not made of the situations outside, but, it is made of the\nstuff you are made inside. In boiling water, put the potato it\u2019ll\nbecome soft, put the egg, it\u2019ll become hard.  The situation is not\ngoing to decide how you are going to become, but the stuff out of\nwhich you are made, that is going to decide how you are going to\nbecome with every situation.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2>What\ndoes it take to build a new perception?<\/h2>\n\n\n<ol><li>\nWe\n\tneed trust and belief in what has been preserved by a culture, say a\n\tscripture.\n\t<\/li><li>\nWe\n\tneed to see a contemporary person living those truths.  This is the\n\trole of the Guru.\n\t<\/li><li>\nWe\n\tneed to work from those truths to experience the reality that they\n\tpoint us to.  To achieve something in the outer world, we need to\n\twork \u201cfor\u201d them.  To achieve something in the inner world, we\n\tneed work \u201cfrom\u201d them.\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n<h4>Beliefs\nthat makes one powerless<\/h4>\n\n\n<ol><li>\n<strong>I\n\tam this body<\/strong>\n\t: If you believe you are 100% made of stuff only with this bone,\n\tflesh blood, then you can never conquer death fear.  As long as you\n\tare thinking you\u2019re just physical body, your ambitions, your\n\taspirations, your desires, your fears, everything will be so\n\timmature.  It will not have any depth, all it takes to please you is\n\tphysical pleasures.\n\t<\/li><li>\n<strong>I\n\thave only one life<\/strong>\n\t: This is a limiting cognition of life.\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n<p>Know\nthat who you really are is much much bigger than what these\ncognitions provide.<\/p>\n\n\n<h4>Beliefs\nthat makes one powerful<\/h4>\n\n\n<ol><li>\n<strong>You\n\tare energy that is immortal<\/strong>\n\t: Upanishads declare, \u201cLife energy moves and expands itself\u201d.\n\tThis phrase should be clearly understood.  This phrase declares\n\timmortality of all of you.  Upanishads says very clearly,\n\t\u2018Consciousness is the space where life energy, \u201cMaatharishva\u201d\n\t(<strong>\u092e\u093e\u0924\u0930\u093f\u0936\u094d\u0935\u093e<\/strong>),\n\tmoves and expands\u2019.  It does not say \u2018where it dissolves or\n\tdies\u2019.  No!  You moved and expanded, moved and expanded, moved and\n\texpanded, never took birth or died.\n\t<\/li><li>\n<strong>You\n\tcan never be violated <\/strong>:\n\tViolation means something external can put me in suffering; that\n\tfeeling is violation. Violence can happen to me, that feeling, that\n\tbelief, is violation.  I cannot feel violated! Why I cannot be\n\tviolated? Because I am there in everythin exists, and everything\n\texists is there in me.
