New Delhi (Sputnik)\u00a0\u2014 Some 250 to\u00a0300 peoples related to\u00a0a Hindu group protested outside\u00a0the Russian embassy on\u00a0Friday.
\nProtesters carried placards saying \u2018Save Hindus in\u00a0Russia’ and shouted slogans in\u00a0support of\u00a0Hinduism. The protest was peaceful.
\nThe protest was organised by\u00a0the Hindu groups at\u00a0the behest of\u00a0Prasun Prakash, son of\u00a0Prakash Dham who runs an Indian cultural and spiritual center in\u00a0Russia called \u2018Shri Prakash Dham’. Prakash Dham has been threatened by\u00a0a Russian Alexander Dworkin and his family has also written to\u00a0Russian President Putin for\u00a0help.
\nPrasun Prakash, son of\u00a0Prakash Dham told Sputnik in\u00a0an exclusive interview “We want diplomatic talks on\u00a0this issue between\u00a0Indian and Russian government due the extremism against\u00a0Hinduism in\u00a0Russia.”
\n“Due to\u00a0the fact is that my father is living in\u00a0Russia for\u00a0a long time and he has huge popularity because he works for\u00a0Hinduism. He preaches Hinduism in\u00a0various cities of\u00a0Russia. He is facing threat from\u00a0the person called Alexander Dworkin. Dworkin calls himself religious expert but\u00a0his job is to\u00a0attack every religion and my father is being used as\u00a0a tool to\u00a0attack Hinduism. His motive is to\u00a0threat my father, my family.” added Prasun Prakash.
\n“The fact is that we don’t have problems with\u00a0Russian government, we have problem with\u00a0this individual person because this person does his works covertly. In fact, I have written a letter to\u00a0Russian President Putin to\u00a0help in\u00a0this matter. We have got reply from\u00a0the Administration of\u00a0President in\u00a0which it was assured that Russian Interior Ministry will enquire the matter and help,” Said Prasun Prakash.
\nSources in\u00a0the Russian embassy confirmed Sputnik that, “Some peoples came near\u00a0the Embassy, they were carrying posters saying \u2018Protect Our Rights’. But I don’t know what they wanted. They were shouting slogans that religious rights of\u00a0Hindus living in\u00a0Russia should be protected. But we don’t have any information about\u00a0insecurity of\u00a0Indians there. I think there is an organization who is trying to\u00a0blow the issue out\u00a0of proportion. The protesters didn’t give any letter to\u00a0the embassy about\u00a0their demands.”
