{"id":42622,"date":"2017-02-27T19:30:10","date_gmt":"2017-02-27T14:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/globalpress.hinduismnow.org\/?p=42622"},"modified":"2017-02-27T19:30:10","modified_gmt":"2017-02-27T14:00:10","slug":"asi-document-major-historical-sites-ts-telangana-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalpress-new.hinduismnow.org\/?p=42622","title":{"rendered":"ASI to document all major historical sites in TS &#124; Telangana Today"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<strong>Hyderabad:<\/strong> In a unique attempt at documenting the hoary history of Telangana, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has launched a massive survey to record almost all the historical monuments in the State.<br \/>\nThe survey is aimed at identifying and documenting all major and minor historical and pre-historical structures and will continue for at least one year in all the districts of Telangana.<br \/>\n\u201cAt present, the list of monuments documented in Telangana are limited. There are many more yet to be identified historical structures that have a lot of archaeological, historical and cultural significance for Telangana. We will identify all of them,\u201d says D. Kanna Babu, Deputy Superintendent Archaeologist, ASI, Hyderabad.<br \/>\nKeeping in view of the limited number of recognised historical sites, there was a dire need to enlist new monuments and sites from Telangana into its fold, the ASI official said.<br \/>\n\u201cAfter formation of Telangana, this is the right time to enhance the composition of centrally protected monuments by enlisting justifiable unprotected heritage constructions of equal historical prominence and significance,\u201d the ASI official said.<br \/>\nAs part of this process, appraisal survey has been taken up by the officials recently in JayaShankar Bhupalapalli District.<br \/>\nDuring the course of the survey a detailed study has been conducted on the historical monuments located in Odithala Village in Jaishanker Bhupally district. The officials covered three important heritage edifices including Trikuta, Venugopala and Ganesha temples constructed during Kakatiya Empire with their unique style of Architecture.<br \/>\nASI officials said that they were hoping that at least 400 monuments will be identified during the survey, in which 50 will be of national importance.<br \/>\n\u201cAfter conducting the survey, we will propose the most important monuments with national importance for their protection and conservation under the care of ASI,\u201d says N.Taher, Superintending Archaeologist.<br \/>\nAt present, the ASI, Hyderabad Circle, is safe guarding eight centrally protecting monuments, which possess national cultural importance in the State.<br \/>\nThe Golkonda fort, Charminar, Warangal fort, Thousand Pillared Temple at Hanamkonda, Group of Temples at Alampur, Ramappa Temple at Palampet, famous Archaeological Sites at Kondapur and Megalithic Site at Janampet are the eight national monuments in State.\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hyderabad: In a unique attempt at documenting the hoary history of Telangana, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has launched a massive survey to record almost all the historical monuments in the State.
