The situation has further worsened ever since the LDF with Pinarayi Vijayan as the Chief Minister has taken up the reins of the power in the state. Moreover, the approach of the present state government in the matter is highly disappointing. It is most unfortunate that the Chief Minister, rather than acting in consonance of with the Oath of Office and Secrecy taken by him at the swearing in ceremony, has been acting as the party leader. His attempt to malign the RSS at New Delhi the other day by accusing it of violence and murders in the state, is a clear indication of his embarrassment over his failure to maintain law and order in the state. Latest, three Sangh activists and sympathisers, including a lady, Vimala, a Mahila Morcha worker, were killed in quick succession by the CPI (M) killer squads at Palakkad and Dharmadom, the Chief Minister’s own constituency. “CPM’s undue interference in the affairs of the police force has led to a breakdown of law and order in the state,” says the Congress leader and former state Home Minister, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, which makes unequivocally clear the state of affairs in the state as far as the law and order situation is concerned.
And this article is an attempt to expose the orgy of unprovoked violence and merciless killings indulged by the CPI (M) in Kerala Participating in the discussions on the subject in the state Assembly on September 26, 2016, the Chief Minister said that peace could not be restored in the state by convening an all-party meeting, and the only way out was to reign in the organisations in Kerala, imparting training to commit murders. If Pinarayi Vijayan were at all honest, he should have taken stringent action against the cadres of his own party, who have virtually turned bomb-making into a cottage industry, and move about on two-wheelers and four-wheelers carrying daggers and swords to locate and finish off their political adversaries. And the moment they lay down their daggers, swords and bombs, in no time Kerala will turn once again into a heaven of peace and tranquillity.
<img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-23497 size-full aligncenter" src="https://i0.wp.com/media.haindavakeralam.com/wp-1488293632742.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" data-attachment-id="23497" data-permalink="https://hinduexistence.org/2016/04/12/hindu-americans-fighting-for-retaining-their-indic-and-hindu-historicity/" data-orig-file="" data-orig-size="" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta="[]" data-image-title="Hindu Americans fighting for retaining their Indic and Hindu historicity." data-image-description="
Hindu American Foundation Launches #DontEraseIndia Campaign.

WHN Bureau | California | April 10, 2016:: The Hindu American Foundation (HAF), an advocacy organization for the Hindu American community, is announcing a campaign to keep Hindu and Indian history included and accurate in California textbooks. Is that too much to ask for?”

Since 2014, HAF has been fighting to update the textbook framework put forth by the California Department of Education (CDE), which continues to reinforce cultural stereotypes and historical inaccuracies. This effort is largely motivated by a desire to eliminate any bullying of Indian and Hindu youths in California schools caused or exacerbated by these inaccuracies. Other groups, including the Hindu Education Foundation and Uberoi Foundation, along with several scholars, such as University of San Francisco Professor Vamsee Juluri and Saint Mary’s College of CaliforniaProfessor, Barbara McGraw, have also been heavily involved in the process to ensure an accurate representation of Hinduism and India in the framework.

“For many years the American perception of Hinduism and India has been wrong, in part due to the content ofCalifornia textbooks,” said Samir Kalra, Esq., Senior Director and Human Rights Fellow of theHindu AmericanFoundation. “HAF is dedicated to correcting these inaccuracies. The hearing is important on many levels, but mostly to prove that the state is making it a priority to correctly understand and accurately portray the cultural and religiousheritage of its citizens—in this case, the approximately one million Hindus that call California home.”

Recently, a small group of South Asian studies faculty members got involved and reversed some positive changes and proposed other changes that would essentially write India out of California textbooks and that would, again, misrepresent the fundamentals of Hinduism. Their recommendations also contradicted previous submissions by a larger group of scholars of religion and history who had called for greater nuance and sensitivity in regards to Hinduism and Hindu history. The IQC accepted a few of the changes brought by this group, and will send a final set of recommendations to the State Board of Education. In May, a final decision will be reached, and a final draft of the framework will be created.

Beginning on April 6, HAF will deploy a social media campaign with the hashtag #DontEraseIndia to raise awareness of HAF’s efforts to revise the CDE textbook framework and of the upcoming anti-bullying report that HAF will release following the State Board of Education hearing. The anti-bullying report will be released in May 2016, and will include testimonies and data surrounding the effects of the textbook inaccuracies on school-aged children.

Not coincidentally, April 6 marks the 86th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s Salt March, which marked the start of the civil disobedience movement to protest British rule in India.

Hindu Americans Oppose Textbook Edits by Curriculum Commission.

Over 100 Hindu Indian Americans gathered March 24 in Sacramento, Calif., to oppose the California Department of Education Instructional Quality Commission’s plans to accept edits made by a group of South Asian studies faculty members who seek to remove certain references to India and Hinduism. The majority of the edits that the faculty group was trying to suggest were negative in nature in relation to Hinduism and India, said Samir Kalra, HAF director and senior fellow for Human Rights. “They were trying to erase a lot of the identity and contribution of Hinduism and ancient Indian civilization,” he clarified.

The South Asian studies faculty members, who became involved in the process towards the end of 2015, comprise a small group of scholars from various humanities fields representing different universities, many of whom were not religious scholars, according to Kalra. Kalra added that there was a hearing on March 24 where the IQC met to review many of the suggested edits. Initially, the IQC’s writing team had recommended 80 percent of the South Asia faculty group’s edits, but during the hearing many of those edits were rejected, he said.

IQC’s decision to reverse some of the proposed changes was apparently also influenced by public awareness campaigns, including letters from professors of religion and history who disputed the faculty group’s assertions. Prof. Vamsee Juluri, who teaches media studies at the University of San Francisco, circulated a petition along with a number of other professors in order to bring about a public awareness campaign challenging the edits from the South Asia faculty group. Reacting to an incident in which a BJP activist was murdered in broad daylight in his own village Pinarayi, the chief minister had no qualms to claim that the RSS was spreading falsehood after killing the person themselves. If what he said was true, he should have taken necessary measures to substantiate what he said, by producing solid evidence against the RSS. If at all Pinarayi Vijayan is honest, he, as the chief minister, has to order an impartial enquiry into the political murders committed in the state so far, or, at least, after he took over as the chief minister of the state. The people of the state are interested to know as to why political murders take place regularly in a state being ruled by a Leftist alliance headed by the CPI (M), whereas thirteen or more states ruled by the BJP are free from this menace? Why no action is being taken in the wake of so many murders, especially when the chief minister himself is handling the Home Portfolio? The main sanctum having the Lingam which is worshipped as Somanathiswara faces east. Goddess Parvathi is enshrined in a separate sanctum as Kamakshi Amman.

The entrance to the temple is via an arch which has been constructed in recent times. The icon of Nataraja here is in the rare chathura tandava pose. The central shrine is of Chola vintage with a rounded rear end which is called gajaprishta vimanam indicating the main sanctum resembles the back of an elephant.

This temple is connected with Chandra or the Moon god. According legend, Chandra was once cursed by King Daksha and lost his lustre. He then worshipped Shiva in this temple after bathing in the sacred tank called vinai tirtha kulam and got back his beauty. Another tank near the temple is called Chandikeshwarar Tirtham. The moon is called Soma in Sanskrit, and Shiva worshipped by Soma is called Somanathiswarar. The village too got its name Somangalam. There is a separate shrine for Soma here.

The Somanathiswarar temple is one of the nine temples dedicated to the nine planets (grahas) situated around Porur. A feature of this temple is the Nandi faces outwards and not at Shiva. It is said that a king was once renovating the temple when the army of the enemy attacked the kingdom. The king requested Nandi to face the enemy and thwart their attack and Shiva’s bull turned around and blew away the foes!

Village named after Soma

Somangalam, the village near Kundrathur, one of the suburbs of Chennai close to Porur, is a place of great antiquity. The two little known Chola temples in Somangalam, one for Vishnu and the other for Siva and the Tamil inscriptions found on their walls bear testimony to this suburb’s connections with the Cholas. The name Somangalam has continued to exist for more than a thousand years as evident from the Chola lithic records. The other ancient names of this village were Rajashikhamani Chaturvedimangalam and Panchanadivana Chaturvedimangalam indicating that it was peopled by scholars who were well-versed in the four Vedas. It was situated in the ancient territorial sub-division of Maganur Nadu in Chengattu-k-kottam in Jayankonda-cholamandalam.

The medium-sized east-facing Siva shrine in Somangalam, now known as the Somanatheswara temple, is a classic example of Chola architecture.

The central sanctum has an apsidal shape known in technical parlance by the Sanskrit term gaja-prishta meaning ‘back of an elephant’ due to its structural design. Similar apsidal Chola shrines are seen in many temple-complexes around Chennai and also in the surrounding areas, including the Ramanatheswara temple in Porur, not too far from Somangalam.

The walls of the Somanatheswara temple are studded with sculptures and inscriptions. Images of Ganesha, Vishnu and Brahma in the niches are exquisite creations of Chola artisans. Noteworthy are the carvings of the vahanams or mounts of the respective deities on the pedestals. Chola era images of Dakshinamurti and Durga as Mahishasuramardini are also seen here.

Interestingly, the Nandi at this temple faces the entrance, relating to an age-old tradition of Somanatheswara ordering Nandi to face and drive out the inimical army that was about to invade his devotee’s land when the latter was in the midst of a temple-building activity.

Incidentally, the village and this deity take their names from Soma or the moon who is said to have worshipped Siva here and for whom there is a separate shrine inside the temple. The earliest epigraph in this Siva temple is dated 1,174 A.D. (of the reign of Rajadhiraja Chola II), registering the gift of cows and providing the ancient name of this deity as Someshwaram Udaiyar.

An interesting lithic record, of the time of Kulothunga III, dated 1,192 A.D., refers to breaches in the bunds of a lake in Somangalam for two years in succession.

The lake bunds were repaired by one Kaman Kandavanavan, who also bore the expenses towards the annual repair of the tank. Several other inscriptions in the reign of this later Chola monarch are seen here.

Similar to Kerala temple

Near the Siva shrine is a Vishnu temple dedicated to Soundararaja Perumal, who is seen in a standing posture with the upper hands holding the conch and the discus, the lower right hand in abhaya hasta and the left resting on the hip (kati hasta).

The deity is flanked by Goddesses Sridevi and Bhoodevi. The other utsava murtis in this sanctum are Narthana Krishna, Vishwaksena, Sudarsana and Anjaneya. In the vestibule (antarala) connecting the main shrine with the mandapam in front are the stone images of Vishwaksenar, Nammazhwar, Andal and Ramanujar. Opposite the central sanctum is the shrine of Garuda. There is only one circumambulatory passage (prakaram) in this temple which is quite wide and spacious.

Herein are seen a number of sanctums, the most important being that of Goddess Lakshmi worshipped here as Soundaryavalli Thayar. A neatly maintained garden (nandavanam) skirts the compound of the temple.

The Writer.

The most eye-catching feature, which can be seen as soon as one enters the temple is the main mandapam.

With its tiled roof and woodwork supporting it, the visitors are reminded of the Kerala temples famous for their tile and timber tradition. An old deepasthambam (lamp-post) made of a single piece of granite is seen in front of this mandapam. A tiny gopuram greets the visitor at the entrance to the temple.

A long inscription, dated 1,073 A.D. (of the reign Kulottunga Chola I), can be seen etched clearly on the walls of the main shrine in this Vishnu temple. It states that this deity was worshipped by the name Thiruchitra-kuttatu-Azhwar in the Chola times and records a gift of land to the temple by the mahasabha (administrative unit) of the village. The comrades, who are nostalgic about Kayyoor and Karivelloor, also take pride in the hacking of a hapless policeman to death at Morazha, during the pre-independence days. It was only recently the media had brought to light the details of a conspiracy hatched by the Marxists to kill Kelappaji, a renowned Gandhian and a great man and social worker in his own right. Let the chief minister, who was one of the accused in the murder of Vadikkal Ramakrishnan, a poor tailoring worker, in 1969, reveal as to which organisation gave training to him and his accomplices? Who had given training and encouragement to those who had killed Sreedharan Nair, a RSS-BJS worker of Ponkunnam in the same year, and Veliyathunadu Chandran, the Aluva district physical training instructor of the RSS, in 1970? In 1978, who imparted necessary training to mercilessly kill Panunda Chandran, a student and the son of one of their own party worker, the curtain-raiser incident that set in motion the orgy of endless political violence and senseless murders in the Kannur district? Also, such murders cannot be attributed to any sudden outburst of emotions caused by some untoward incidents, but have been committed with premeditation, immaculate planning, identifying the prey well in advance. Moreover, all murders committed so far have been well-planned and executed through hired killers, giving them money and arms, apart from arranging hiding places for them after the operation. The gory nature of murders and the number of cuts inflicted on the victim forms the yardstick to assess the excellence of the murder. Killing teachers in front of their students; hacking children to death in front of their mothers; murdering parents in front of their hapless children; killing the husband by cutting him into pieces in front of his wife; burying the victim’s body in mire; in the event of failure to force entry into the victim’s home, setting fire to the house using inflammable material to ensure the death of all inmates; If someone tries to escape from their murderous attack by jumping into some river, stoning him to death to ensure a watery grave for him. These are some of the devilish ways how they kill their victims.
Even the other forms of violent operations the CPI (M) goonda-gangs indulge in have been most cruel and sadistic. The common nature and modus operandi of such violent ‘missions’ carried out all over the state is proof enough of the training the party has been giving to its goonda-gangs to conduct such criminal activities. First of all, they create an atmosphere of horror by exploding improvised explosive devises at the place of action; then, catching hold of their prey, they break their legs and hands in such a fashion to render them cripples for the rest of their lifetime. If they chop off the hand, they violently scratch the severed part against some hard surface and fling it away so as to ensure against its reattachment at any hospital, even in case of its retrieval; they use nail-driven wooden strips to beat their prey with so as to inflict deep and serious wounds on them; they set fire to vehicles and even throw two-wheelers into the wells; they demolish houses and cause extensive damage to television sets, telephone instruments, refrigerators, wooden-cabinets, etc.; they make a bonfire of mattresses, dresses and ransack and defile prayer rooms; they pollute wells by pouring in black oil or depositing hair-waste brought from hairdressing saloons; they even injure cattle and destroy coconut and areca- nut trees; they inflict grievous injuries on even tiny tots; if they don’t find men in whose search they have come, they don’t mind kicking wailing women of the household to vent their wrath and also use abusive language against them; And Kerala has seen them expressing their ‘love for humanity’ umpteen times through such reprehensible acts. In short, their only sadistic intention is to ensure a miserable and pathetic life to their perceived enemies, even if, by chance, peace and tranquillity returns.

Anti-law, anti-democratic:

The CPI (M) never allows activities of other organisations at places which they claim as their strongholds. Neither do they allow hoisting of any other flags than their own flag at such places. It is such an anti-democratic and intolerant attitude of the party that leads to violence. Also, CPI (M) never acknowledges the right of the other parties to propagate their ideology. There have been many instances in which the CPI (M) had either threatened or abducted candidates belonging to other political parties, who had filed nomination papers to contest election against their candidates, to ensure that their candidates won the election unopposed. And the dubious practice of casting the votes of people who are either dead or out of station, by the CPI (M) in polling booths at their strongholds is highly surprising.
During the Assembly Elections in 1980, hundreds of Congress Party workers, who were physically- assaulted by the CPI (M) goondas for their ‘fault’ of acting as the polling booth agents of the Congress Party in the CPI (M) strongholds had to be admitted to the District Hospital in Kannur. During election time, there were also instances in which the BJP’s announcement vehicles were intercepted by the CPI (M) and misused such vehicles for their announcement. During the latest Assembly Elections, at Pappinissery, one of the strongholds of the CPI (M), a booth agent of the BJP was threatened by placing a dagger on his throat and he was also forced to give in writing, “Hereafter I shall do no political work.” And the visuals of this incident were telecast by all visual media in Kerala. Even in Pinarayi Vijayan’s own constituency, Dharmadom, it is surprising that the instances of fake voting were galore.
As a matter of fact, there is hardly any political party in Kerala, which has not been the prey of the CPI (M) violence. Apart from the Indian National Congress and the Indian Union Muslim League, even the CPI (M)’s alliance partner and parent organisation, the CPI, and the party’s alliance partner at the national level, the RSP, also has had the taste of their violence. Their approach to late M.V. Raghavan, who had played an important role in strengthening the CPI (M) in Kerala, after he was expelled from the party, was awful, and he survived only because of his sheer luck. When all attempts made by them to kill him proved futile, out of frustration, they vented their ire against the dumb snakes and birds at the Snake Park, run by him at Pappinissery. They had mercilessly killed many a CPI activist, who had quit the Left alliance. After the split in the Communist Party of India in 1964, the two factions were known as the Left Communist Party and the Right Communist Party, and the way the Left Communist Party dealt with a toddy-tapper of Alapuzha, who belonged to the Right Communist Party, was something horrendous. Not satisfied with breaking his right leg and right hand they as well wrenched his right earlobe and gouged his right eye in a gory fashion!
The slogan raised by the activists of the women’s wing of the party against C.

The petition, which found supporters in a host of community members and scholars, garnered almost 20,000 signatures.

Read also: Communist academics in US attempt to distort India’s history with ignoring facts on Hinduism.

…

Source: World Hindu News.

" data-medium-file="" data-large-file="" />
Not only that the CPI (M) has never made any honest positive move to create an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity in the state, all along it has pursued a policy of abetting, encouraging and providing every assistance to the party cadres to freely indulge in violence. The shameful inactivity of the CPI (M) and the valiant resistance put up by the RSS workers during the Emergency, gave an opportunity to the people of Kerala to evaluate both the organisations. As a result, youths and students were attracted to the RSS in a big way. During the final days of the Emergency, the RSS workers as a whole came out on the field to fight against totalitarianism. As the elections was fought by the Janata Party, in which the Bharatiya Jana Sangh had merged, in alliance with the CPI (M), in spite of serious ideological differences, the RSS workers wholeheartedly came forward to work in the constituencies in which the CPI (M) candidates were fighting. Even in the constituency of Pinarayi Vijayan, who was one of the accused in the murder case of Vadikkal Ramakrishnan, one of their co-workers, in deference to the wishes of their organisation, the RSS workers had actively participated in the campaign. However, because of the mindset of the people of the state, which was against the violent nature of the CPI (M), they were routed in the elections in Kerala, whereas all over Bharat the forces of democracy made a big gain. The people of Kerala opted for the totalitarian Congress party.
Anyhow, the ever gaining popularity of the RSS made the CPI (M) jittery. So, their leadership started a campaign under the banner of “anti-communalism.” But, more than a campaign against communalism, it was in effect, a campaign to call upon the people to beat to death the RSS men as they kill rabid dogs. And the unprovoked murder of Panunda Chandran in Kannur and a series of killings and violence thereafter, were a consequence of this.
First, it was Dattopant Thengadi, a senior RSS pracharak and the founder of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, and Comrade Ramamoorthy, the CPI (M) leader, who facilitated a meeting between the state leaders of the RSS and the CPI (M), at Ernakulam, as part of the peace initiative. Then, P.Parameshwaran, Director, Bharatiya Vichara Kendram, Thiruvananthapuram, took the initiative to arrange a meeting of two senior RSS pracharaks of Kerala, Bhaskar Rao Kalambi and R. Hari, with the then Kerala Chief Minister, E.K. Nayanar, in New Delhi. And finally, Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer took the initiative to restore peace by facilitating talks between the two sides. And every time, it was the state leadership of the CPI (M) that thwarted the attempts to restore peace in the state, as they were never interested in restoring peace. At one time, the Marxist ideologue, E.M.S. Namboodiripad, had even declared, “We will take up arms against the RSS.” When a question about an incident in which three ABVP workers were stoned to death by the CPI (M) goondas in the Pamba River in Perumala, was raised in the state Assembly during the chief minister-ship of E.K. Nayanar, the response of the chief minister was, “Why, were they not ABVP workers, what have you to do with it?” Nayanar’s reply implied that it was their privilege to kill the ABVP and Sangh Pariwar workers and no one else had any right to question it! During the high tide of CPI (M) violence, in Kannur, the unearthing of a large number of crude bombs from the residence of a party activist, situated in one of their strongholds, by a police party led by an impartial police officer, sent a shockwave throughout the state. But, when the media people enquired of the chief minister, Nayanar, about the incident, he nonchalantly replied that those were firecrackers intended for the Vishu festival. It is amply clear that the senseless violence unleashed by the CPI (M) cadres ever since Pinarayi Vijayan became the Kerala chief minister, and the provocative comment, “The wages for the work in the field will be paid at the ridge,” made by the present state secretary of the party, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, are definitely intended to encourage the cadres to take to violence.
The training given in the RSS Sakhas is aimed at fostering discipline, patriotism, unity and mutual love. Quoting the extermination theory of the Russian autocrat Joseph Stalin, who said, “Intense hatred in the basis of the success of the Communist parties,” Sri Guruji Golwalkar, the second Sarsanghchalak of the RSS, once said: “Sacred love is the basis of our success.” In 1979, when the murder politics of the CPI (M) was at its zenith, the then Sarsanghchalak, Poojaniya Balasahab Deoras, had visited Thalassery. On that occasion, his address to thousands of people, including a large number of uniformed Swayamsevaks, was never aimed whipping up passions. He said: “The RSS welcomes ideological debate and the Marxists, giving up their arms, should come forward for a fight at the ideological level.” After winning the fight against the Emergency, challenging cruel form torture and even death, Deorasji had undertaken a tour of whole Bharat. During that tour, as a committed and responsible leader, the call he gave to the Swayamsevaks was to forget and forgive all atrocities they were subjected to. Also, he exhorted them to actively participate in the nation-building activity. In the1980s, late P. Madhavaji, who was one of the RSS ideologues in Kerala, had undertaken an extensive tour of the Kannur district. In an atmosphere in which the Swayamsevaks were eager and impatient to defend themselves and also for retribution, in the wake of killing of Swayamsevaks, torching of their houses by the CPI (M) cadres, and putting them behind bars, implicating them in false cases by pliable police officers at the instance of the party-men, what Madhavji said, while addressing the Swayamsevaks, was this: “Our fight is against Communism and not Communists. By killing one or two Communists, Communism cannot be eradicated. Our fight should be to defeat it both at the theoretical and organisational level. Presently, Communists are treading a wrong path. But they are our own brethren, who, after realising their mistake, are sure to join us, if not today, tomorrow.” Although Madhavaji’s counsel was not acceptable to the Swayamsevaks of Kannur who were emotionally surcharged and were in a mood for some counter-action, they, nevertheless, accepted his advice against falling a prey to their emotions and to act wisely. During those days, the media, as if to add fuel to fire, used to compare the murders with scoring goals in a football match. And Madhavaji’s counsel had come at a time when the mental complexion was such that it was thought that the failure to win the match by scoring more goals would bring ignominy! As a result of the Sangh’s decision to follow the path suggested by Madhavaji, many CPI (M) cadres left the party and became Sangh workers. And, as a sequence, when the ‘party villages’ became ‘Sangh villages,’ the people there could taste the joy of peace and cooperation.

CPI (M)’s present predicament:

In the 1980s, the Balagokulam, a children’s organisation, started celebrating Sri Krishna Janmashtami in a big way. Out of envy, the Left parties sought to condemn, oppose and even disrupt the programme, but failed. Then, to counter the Balagokulam, they tried to organise parallel programmes under the aegis of Balajanasangham, to prevent the child from the communist households from participating in the Balgokulam’s programme. However, that also did not click, as the parents and children preferred the Balagokulam programme. Then the party had no other go but to organise the Janmashtami programme on its own. And, during the last two years, by organising the programme, the party could raise only hackles. To put it straight, the programmes they conducted brought them brickbats rather than bouquets. During the so-called cultural procession conducted by them, saint-reformer, Narayana Guru was shown in a tableau as being crucified and himself being tugged by someone, holding a noose put around his neck. This outrageous depiction of the revered saint brought the party all -round condemnation. On another occasion, all of a sudden, the party had a revelation that it should celebrate the birthday of the renowned saint Chattambi Swamikal. During the ‘cultural procession’ they took out on that occasion, ‘Thidambu Nritham,’ a sacred temple ritual, was performed, which also brought much reproach to the party from every quarter!
When all attempts to defeat the RSS failed, they made even attempts to ape the RSS. For instance, In the 1960s, seeing people captivated by the route-marches taken out by the RSS with spotless precision and perfection, out of jealousy, the CPI (M) organised the Gopalasena. Even in recent times, the Red Volunteers also had taken out a march and had also performed some ‘acrobatics.’
In recent times, CPI (M) leaders have started taking keen interest in the affairs of Hindu temples. And the very people, who once considered taking oath in the name of God as something ignominious and the greatest sin, should now show extraordinary interest in the temple matters that cannot certainly be with any good intentions. There was a time when the same party leaders wanted to demolish temples for tapioca cultivation. When the Hindus started an agitation under the leadership of K. Kelappaji to assert their right to reconstruct the Angadippuram Temple, it was the very CPI (M), to appease Islamic zealots, raised the slogan: “Kelappan is applying sandalwood-paste on the stone urinated by the dog!” And Kerala was also privy to the spectacle in which party leadership reprimanded its workers who showed reluctance to participate in the Gopalasena programmes, wearing red uniform, and, the same time went on pilgrimage to the Sabarimala shine, clad in black attire, carrying “Irumudi” (the sacred cloth bundle stuffed with pooja articles). Diktats have also been given to the Hindu comrades against performing Ganapathi Homam and lighting the traditional sacred lamp in their households. Once, on a marriage occasion, Sree Narayana Guru’s portrait and traditional lighted lamp were arranged at the bride’s home, befitting the auspicious occasion. However, the local secretary of the party, who came there to attend the marriage and saw the arrangement, he knocked everything out saying, “Nothing of the sort shall be allowed in our party villages!” These things are very common in Kannur district so much so, that even social and family functions like marriages, housewarming, etc. could be conducted by the Hindus subject to the dictates of the party’s local secretary. At the same, comrades belonging to other religious communities enjoy unfettered freedom and encouragement to follow their religious practices.
The anti-Hindu attitude of the CPI (M) was very conspicuous in the 1960s itself, when they tried to disrupt the religious discourse of revered Swami Chinmayanadaji at the Keralavarma College at Thrissur. Revered Matha Amrutanandamayi Devi, who is adored all over the world, is, for the comrades, the most despicable human-god! When the construction work of the building-complex of the Amruta Institute of Medical Sciences was progressing in Ernakulam, through an article published in Deshabhimani, the organ of the CPI (M), it was alleged that the very purpose of the Institute was to sell Keralites’ kidneys to the Americans! This is in spite of the fact that the leaders of the party are very particular that their wards should be admitted to the educational institutions run by the Mata Amrutanandamayi Math, for higher studies and professional courses! And it is high time that the party cadres see through the duplicity of their leaders! They also sought to disrupt the Vedanta classes of revered Swamiji Chidanandapuri, under the plea that the classes were fanning Hindu communalism. At the same time, the CPI (M) leaders were vying with each other for arranging parole and according receptions to Abdul Nazar Mahdani, who was behind the bars on charges of disrupting communal harmony and fomenting violence all over the state through his venomous speeches. This has helped the Hindus in the state to see the fraudulent “secularist” face of party and its leaders.
This anti-Hindu attitude of the party is still continuing in full swing and is discernible in matters like the ban impose on Onam celebrations, laying flower carpets during Onam festival, and the lighting of the traditional lamp during government functions, etc. Further, giving instructions as to what should be done in the temples, for how many days the Sabarimala shrine should remain open to devotees for offering worship, etc., and raising unnecessary and nonsensical demands like calling for stoppage of nonexistent arms training in temple premises, are all not with the intention of doing good to the Hindus or their temples, but only part of the ulterior design of the party to plunder the temple properties and to destroy the temples by creating divisions and dissensions in the Hindu society. However, it is heartening that the Hindus in Kerala are intelligent enough to see through the party’s game-plan.
Ignoring the most horrifying miseries brought on the Hindus of Malabar through massacre, plunder, raping of women, and forced conversions to Islam, on a large scale during the notorious Mopilla Rebellion in 1921, it was the CPI (M) which accorded respectability to that heinous crime against humanity, by describing the rebellion as “peasants’ uprising.” After the partition, for Nehru, the communal Indian Union Muslim League was a ‘dead horse.’ And, as part of the appeasement policy pursued by the CPI (M), the party breathed new life into the rabidly communal Indian Union Muslim League by offering it a minister-ship on a platter.
For the Marxists, in the initial stages, India was one nation and the Muslim League was communalist feudalist and reactionary. But later they changed this stance and said: “1. Indian is not a nation but a collection of several separate nationalities, many of them being oppressed nationalities; 2. the Muslims are not quite an oppressed nationality but, as they fear that the Hindus in the future could oppress them, the demand for Pakistan is a just and democratic demand.” In fact, this was not at all an innovation or discovery of the Indian Marxists but they were only echoing the thoughts of their godfather, Joseph Stalin, who had said in an essay written by him in 1925: “Nowadays India is spoken of as a single whole. Yet there can be hardly any doubt that in the case of a revolutionary upheaval in India many hitherto unknown nationalities, each with its own language and its own distinctive culture, will emerge on the scene.”*
Not satisfied with giving a theoretical support to the two-nation theory of the Muslim League during the pre-partition days, in post-partition India also the Communists continued pampering the fundamentalist Muslim League and created the Muslim majority Malappuram district so as to help them to keep the communal -cauldron boiling. Again, it was the very same CPI (M) that helped the UDF government led by the Congress Party to torpedo the CBI enquiry into the conspiracy, international-connections and the financial resources of the communal- terrorist forces, who butchered eight innocent and unsuspecting fishermen at Marad in the year 2003. In the Ayodhya issue also the party’s attitude has been no better. K.K. Mohammed, who was a member of the archaeological team that conducted excavation at Ayodhya, has unequivocally made it clear that it was Irfan Habib, a Leftist historian, who made the Muslim community to change its stance that, in case it was proved that a temple existed at the disputed site in the past, they would hand over the disputed land to the Hindus for constructing the Ram Temple. All these point to the ulterior motive of the party to foment trouble in the country by disturbing the congenial atmosphere conducive for achieving communal harmony.

Anti-national mindset of Indian Communists:
<img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-22555 aligncenter" src="https://i0.wp.com/media.haindavakeralam.com/cpm-kola.jpg?w=792" width="733" height="384" data-attachment-id="22555" data-permalink="https://hinduexistence.org/?p=22555" data-orig-file="" data-orig-size="" data-comments-opened="0" data-image-meta="[]" data-image-title="Devout Hindutva leader Yogi Adityanath named as CM Candidate in UP." data-image-description="

BJP MP Demands Yogi Adityanath as CM Candidate in UP.

Upananda Brahmachari | HENB | Ballia | February 7, 2016:: A BJP MP from Uttar Pradesh has demanded that the party declare Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath as its chief ministerial candidate for the UP assembly elections slated for next year.

“BJP has only two alternatives, Kalyan Singh and Yogi Adityanath, for the chief minister’s post. How they betrayed the Quit India Movement in 1942 has been graphically detailed by the renowned columnist Arun Shaurie in his book, ‘The Great Betrayal.’ As has been mentioned above, the history of the undivided Communist Party had been that of supporting the Muslim League’s demand for Pakistan. Further, their argument that every region in which a specific language was spoken formed a separate nationality was a move against the integrity of Bharat. And comrade E.M.S. Namboodiripad sought to give further impetus to this argument through his book, “Keralam Malayaliyude Mathrubhumi” (Kerala: The Motherland of Malayalis). In 1962, when China mounted an aggression on Bharat and grabbed thousands of kilometres of our land, and when the whole nation stood as one man against this aggression, E.M.S. Namboodiripad and the Communist Party took a highly repugnant anti-national stance that the land the Chinese grabbed was “a disputed area which the Chinese claimed as theirs and we as ours!” Also, to thwart our efforts to reach food supplies and war materials to our soldiers resisting the Chinese aggression on our borders, they even organised labour- strikes in Kolkata and other places. When every state in Bharat donated funds for the construction of the Vivekananda Rock Memorial at Kanyakumari in commemoration of the Swamiji’s birth centenary, the only state that refused to donate even a pie was Kerala, with E.M.S. Namboodiripad as the chief minister! It is really a disgrace to the people of Kerala that the state’s name is missing in the list of our states that cooperated with this noble project in the name of Swami Vivekananda, who was a source of inspiration to every freedom fighter in Bharat. At a time when Russia and China were piling up nuclear warheads, Bharat conducted a nuclear test at Pokhran to beef-up its security, instead of welcoming the bold step taken by the government, the CPI (M) condemned the test, as if it were a great sin! The CPI (M)’s opposition to the death sentences awarded to the terrorists, and the praise they shower on those who raise anti-national slogans are clear indication of the party’s anti-national activities. In Kashmir, the Left leaders had to face ignominy when, in spite of their repeated implorations, contrary to the mood of the people of our country, for a meeting with the separatist leaders, who have been inspiring and prompting youngsters to pelt stones at our soldiers and security- men, were turned down by them. But, in spite of this insult, they shamelessly continue to show a soft corner for those anti-national elements!

The advent of RSS in Kerala:

When the RSS came to Kerala in 1942, the Communist Movement had deep and strong roots here. They had an array of popular leaders like A.K. Gopalan and E.M.S. Namboodiripad. The Communist Movement could grow here riding on the crust of the anti-Congress sentiments that was strong among the Hindus in the wake of the untold suffering they had to undergo during the notorious Mopilla Rebellion of 1921. Then, along with the benefit of being a part of the international revolutionary movement , carrying the credit of being the first Left party that came into power through the ballot, and the false image it could create about it as a party that stood for justice, brought acceptance to Communists in the then prevailing social atmosphere in the state.
At the same time, the RSS had no such claims or concessions! Although notions like Hindu and Hindutwa had ready acceptance and influence in north Bharat, even prominent persons were doubtful about the prospects of its acceptance in Kerala. Although the Hindumahamandalam, formed in 1951, had raised the expectation and self-confidence of the Hindus to a great extent, with its sudden death due to political reasons, some sort of a cynicism took over and the feeling that a Hindu organisation was impossible became endemic.
From day one, the RSS had to face insults and resistance from the Leftist forces. During those days, the Leftists used to ridicule the Sangh workers saying, “Your pulses will not cook here, RSS-man!” They tried to obstruct the work by spilling broken glass pieces and thorny shrubs in the Sakhas; by conducting adverse propaganda using every abusive term in their vocabulary like Gandhi-murderers, reactionary-communalists, anti-minority, casteist-fascists, and what not! Whenever they came to power, they tried to crush and weaken the RSS with all their might, using even the pliable police force and the administrative machinery. For instance, when E.K. Nayanar was the chief minister, an infamous circular was issued by the then North Zone DIG, Kumaraswami, which read: “Give me the list of the RSS workers you have been able to arrest and jail before I have taken my breakfast.” Also, they tried to eliminate the RSS by obstructing the conduct of its Sakhas at public places, and intimidating and attacking the individuals and institutions, who allowed the conduct of the Sakhas at places owned by them, etc. But all such heinous attempts did not bring them any result.
But, presently, the spectacle before us is such that the only party in the name of Communism continues to exist, is in Kerala, whereas the whole world has discarded Communism lock, stock and barrel, long back. But, no doubt, in Kerala also, the party is on the deathbed! The predecessor of the present government, the Congress-led UDF government, was mired in corruption, nepotism and other forms of unethical practices so that the people, fed up with the dispensation, thirsted for a change. However, the present dispensation led by Pinarayi Vijayan that came to power with the backing of traitors and terrorists has, exposing its true colours in a very short time, disappointed the people of the state beyond all description. In matters like corruption, nepotism and violence, they have literally outdone all others!
It is time for the enlightened people of Kerala, who are thirsting for peace and tranquillity, to harness their strength and come forward to discharge their solemn duty. The people of the state should work in unison to emancipate the state from the stranglehold of the outdated Communist philosophy. At a time when the whole world is bowing down with reverence before Bharat with her awakened spiritual -power, Kerala cannot afford to turn her face away! Based on the strength of the love and spirit of Adi Sankara and Sree Narayana Guru, saturated with spirituality, we must recreate Kerala, overflowing with peace and tranquillity, the responsibility and fortune of which has fell to our lot.
According to Sri Guruji Golwalkar, the second Sarsanghchalak of the RSS, “Communism is defective in theory and dangerous in practice.” And such a dangerous outfit has been deceiving the people for long in the name of the working-class and development. The Communist Movement, which is totally against the democratic principles, national interest and the lofty cultural identity of Bharat, is fast drifting towards its natural death. And, as far as Kerala is concerned, there is a mission the enlightened people of the state have to accomplish: the duty of eradicating this great hazard once and for all, and rebuilding a Kerala, steeped in peace and tranquillity, which we have fulfil in a democratic way.
*The Only Fatherland by Arun Shourie, published by ASA Publications, New Delhi- page: 101.
…
Courtesy: Haindava Keralam.

The continuing incidents of violence and bloodshed in Kerala for the past many years have been a matter of deep concern for the peace-loving people of the state.
