Shani Shingnapur or Shani Shinga is a village in the Indian state of Maharashtra, Situated in Nevasa taluka in Ahmednagar district, the village is known for its popular temple of Shani, the Hindu god associated with the planet (graha) Saturn. Shingnapur is also famous for the fact that no house in the village has doors, only door frames. This Shani Shingnapur is visited daily by thousands of devotees praying for Lord Shaneswara\u2019s favour. The place is busiest on Saturdays. Shani Trayodasi is considered to be a favorite day for the lord. There has been protests going on asking for entry into this temple however women are NOT bared from entering this temple.

\nBut yes,The shrine does not allow women to worship (this tradition is followed from several hundred years) in the shrine for Shani, which consists of a five and a half feet high black rock installed on an open-air platform, which symbolizes the god Shani. There are barricades and only men can worship. As per scriptures, the chastity of women is very delicate. It can be maligned even by the moonlight. Women prefer to stay away from Shani Dev\u2019s idol as a mark of respect. It is said that touching Shani Dev\u2019s idol during pregnancy is bad for the foetus. Nobody visits the Shani temple during the prosperous times.<\/p>\n
