{"id":6012,"date":"2016-05-26T10:09:56","date_gmt":"2016-05-26T10:09:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/globalpress.hinduismnow.org?p=6009&amp;preview_id=6009"},"modified":"2016-05-26T10:09:56","modified_gmt":"2016-05-26T10:09:56","slug":"hindu-majority-needed-to-save-democracy-in-india-uniform-civil-code-important-subramanian-swamy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalpress-new.hinduismnow.org\/?p=6012","title":{"rendered":"Hindu majority needed to save democracy in India, Uniform Civil Code important: Subramanian Swamy | Zee News"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>New Delhi: BJP Rajya Sabha Member Subramanian Swamy has reiterated that a Hindu majority is a requisite for maintaining \u201cdemocracy\u201d and \u201csecularism\u201d in India.<\/p>\n<p>According to a report by Aaj Tak, the senior BJP said that India will remain till the time Hindus constitute 80% of the country&#8217;s total poulation.<\/p>\n<p>Swamy made this remark while addressing a seminar on the &#8216;Need for a Uniform Civil Code in Indi\u00e1&#8217; in the national capital on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Advocating the need for a Hindu majority, Swamy said that the population of Hindus must remain above 80% of the country\u2019s total population at all times.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen there is a Hindu majority a democracy and secularism reign. Whenever Muslims are in majority &#8211; whether it\u2019s the Kashmir Ghati or Malappuram in Kerala &#8211; there is no democracy or secularism.
