{"id":77341,"date":"2017-07-10T14:04:55","date_gmt":"2017-07-10T08:34:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/globalpress.hinduismnow.org\/?p=77341"},"modified":"2017-07-10T14:04:55","modified_gmt":"2017-07-10T08:34:55","slug":"opening-temple-vault-b-talks-royal-family-today-hindu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalpress-new.hinduismnow.org\/?p=77341","title":{"rendered":"Opening of temple Vault B: talks with royal family today | The Hindu"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content-body-14269002-19247969\" class=\"_hoverrDone\">\n<p>The reason behind the opposition of the royal family of erstwhile Travancore against the opening of Vault B at the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple on the basis of a Supreme Court reference will be discussed with them on Monday for more clarity, Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran has said.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing reporters here on Sunday, Mr. Surendran said the resistance of the royal family could be a part of their long practice of custom and rituals at the temple, where the government would not be able to cast any independent remark.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur actions will be based on the final verdict of the Supreme Court considering the Amicus Curiae\u2019s report,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u2018VS\u2019 views personal\u2019<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Asked about the statement of veteran Communist Party of India (Marist) leader V.S. Achuthanandan that several valuables kept in secret vaults were previously carted away from the temple, Mr. Surendran said it was purely based on the personal conviction of Mr. Achuthanandan. \u201cI have no such view yet and I still believe that the royal family has made valuable contributions to the growth of Thiruvananthapuram,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn a democratic system, the royal family too has the right to express their stance.
