{"id":8814,"date":"2016-06-19T06:26:36","date_gmt":"2016-06-19T06:26:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/globalpress.hinduismnow.org?p=8811&amp;preview_id=8811"},"modified":"2016-06-19T06:26:36","modified_gmt":"2016-06-19T06:26:36","slug":"24-christians-embrace-hinduism-in-jkhand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalpress-new.hinduismnow.org\/?p=8814","title":{"rendered":"24 Christians embrace Hinduism in J\u2019khand | Hindustan Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"\">\n<div class=\"sty_txt\">\n<p>RANCHI: Nearly 24 Christians on Saturday embraced Hinduism at a village in Jharkhand\u2019s Gumla district hardly eight months after 100 tribesmen from the same district adopted Christianity, indicating a possible Ghar Wapsi campaign running in the backyard of the left wing extremism-hit tribal state.<\/p>\n<p>At a function of Hindu Jagran Manch (HJM) in Khambhiya village, the 24 members of two families adopted Hinduism after hours of rituals, including \u2018Satyanarayan Puja\u2019 and purification with holy water.<\/p>\n<p>Amit Thakur, member of state working committee of HJM, said that all 24 members had voluntarily embraced Hinduism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey had expressed desire to adopt Hinduism after seeing a Sarna Mahasammelan (gathering of nature worshipping tribes) organized by us in the village a year ago,\u201d Thakur said.<\/p>\n<p>Sanjay Verma, state-level office-bearer of HJM, said that the families have come back home. \u201cIf a lost man returns home, all his family and relatives would welcome him irrespective of where he stayed after leaving home,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Police said that it had information about Christian families expressing their desire to adopt Hinduism in a gram sabha of the village.
