BHOPAL: Spiritual teacher Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Wednesday stressed on the need of a meditation room in state Assembly. Addressing stress removal training session for MLAs at Vidhan Sabha on Wednesday, he said that before taking any decision, the leaders should meditate in the room as “their decision will affect 7-crore people of the state.”

He also gave MLAs tips on overcoming tension. He also taught them meditation process, desk top yoga and Sudarshan process. Quoting a World Health Organisation report, he said that by 2020, tension will be quite common among people.

Countries like USA, UK and Canada have already set up meditation room in their parliament premises, said the spiritual leader and added that members of parliaments of these countries were already practising meditation to relax from tension. This has led to enhanced work ability, he said.  Advising MLAs from getting personal during debate in assembly, he said, “Have a fight have a discussion in favour of the society. Don’t keep anything in your heart. Have good relationship even with those who disagree with your point of view.”

Stating that religion may divide people, but spiritualism connects all as it is based on connecting people. Attributing tension to loss of energy, he advised simple yoga to overcome it. He also congratulated the state government for constituting ‘Happiness Ministry’. “MP is the first government in Asia to constitute Happiness Ministry. The ministry will help reduce tension in the society”.  Deputy speaker Rajendra Singh gave vote of thanks and said, “India will once again become Vishwa Guru.”
