The City Traffic Police have decided to impose restrictions along the roads leading to the Attukal Bhagavathy temple in view of the increasing rush of devotees arriving to participate in the Attukal Pongala festival.

Motorists coming from the Karamana and Killipalam directions towards the Attukal temple are supposed to park their vehicles at the Attukal parking ground. In case the ground is filled, they will be required to proceed along Chirappalam and park at the ground of the Attukal Government Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital. Similarly, vehicles from the Manacaud direction must also be parked at the parking ground or head for the college ground via Medamukku.

The officials have warned of strict action against motorists who fail to comply with the directions and park in a manner that obstructed the path of pedestrians and hinder traffic flow. Such vehicles will be towed away using recovery vans.

Complaints or suggestions regarding the restrictions can be conveyed by contacting 0471-2558731 or 0471-2558732.
