Bilal was arrested and handed over to the police on Wednesday (September 8) at around 12 noon while trying to vandalize the temple, Facebook page, Documenting Crimes Against Hindus has reported.

Noakhali, Bangladesh: Hindu Residents of Baurahat Municipality handed over a youth named Bilal Hossain (25) to police for desecrating idols at Jagannath Temple Complex.

Bilal was arrested and handed over to the police on Wednesday (September 8) at around 12 noon while trying to vandalize the temple.

Officer-in-charge of the companyganj police station confirmed the matter. As per the sources, the Biswakarma worship was going on at Jagannath Temple Complex on that day.

The devotees were taking flowers, at that time the young man ran into the temple and threw a number of idols and worship items in the temple.

Police arrested the young man named Bilal Hossain, on receiving the news.

As per the police, the devotees started protesting at the temple and the situation came under control when local officials, including Upazila Executive Officer Faisal Ahmed, assured a fair trial.
