Unknown Miscreants desecrated goddess Kali Idol in Kalihati upazila, Tangail, Bangladesh

Kalihati police station OC Hasan Al Mamun said: “Legal steps will be taken against the miscreants who broke into the temple and vandalized the idols,” facebook page, Documenting Crimes Against Hindus has reported.

Kalihati upazila, Tangail, Bangladesh: Continuing with the relentless attack on the Hindu community and Hindu temples in Bangladesh, unidentified miscreants broke into the Kali Temple in Silimpur Uttar Senbari village of Tangail’s Kalihati upazila and vandalized five murtis early Wednesday.

Pratish Chandra Sen, president of the temple committee, said: “After waking up at dawn I went to the temple and saw our sacred idols desecrated. I demand punishment of the responsible through proper investigation.”

Following the incident, members of the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad (BPUP), came and inspected the spot. Meanwhile, concerned police officials and local politicians also visited the spot in the afternoon.

Strongly condemning the incident, Govinda Chandra Saha, general secretary of BPUP in the upazila, said insecurity was prevailing among the Hindus in the area over the incident.
