Aound 13 or 14 LED screens, which will have accompanying messages about various development schemes, will come up at various points in the heritage areas in the future.Meanwhile, the digital information display LED screen at Godowlia crossing has been flashing information pertaining to IPDS, including information about its launch, features, the progress of work, proposed timelines from its launch on July 22. The mayor said that about 60% of the underground cabling work is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Assistant general manager of Power Finance Corporation Vijay Agrawal said a five-minute slideshow on 9×6 ft screen exhibits all about the IPDS scheme, areas being covered under it and a route map of the selected areas where work is underway. In the slideshow, that repeats itself every five minutes, the people are being apprised of everything about the scheme and all that they need to know about progress of underground cabling work in the city. Information has also been extracted from the Kashi-IDPS mobile application, he said.
Kashi-IPDS Mobile App was launched by Union minister of the state for power, coal and new and renewable energy Piyush Goyal on April 9 this year. IPDS, a flagship scheme of the Central government, aims to strengthening the power sub-transmission and distribution network in urban areas across the country and help to ensure 24×7 power for all. The ministry of power has sanctioned Rs 432 crores for the project of underground cabling work under IPDS for old Kashi.
