“Hindu” is a term for inner space
Feb 29, 2020

Typically, when you are born to parents who belong to a certain religion, you are said to become part of that religion. This does not apply to the Vedic Sanatana Hindu Dharma. The criteria for one to belong to this way of life is not birth, but what cognition one carries about them and what cognition of themselves they are striving towards. This implies that anyone can be a Hindu and also someone who was born to Hindu parents need not necessarily be considered Hindu.

Introducing You to You

The 8th verse of the Isa Upanishad, introduces you to you.

It states “Pure Consciousness is all-pervasive, beyond the coming and going, absolute, radiant, self-effulgent, un-embodied, boundary less, whole, wound less, muscle less, having no incompletion with the body.

Consciousness is the ever pure space devoid of the dirt of ignorance, and is untouched by the delusion of incompletion.

Consciousness is the all-knowing seer of all, the lord of all minds, Consciousness transcends all beings,

Consciousness is self-effulgent by itself, with its independent will and intelligence, having no cause for its happening.

It is Pure Consciousness that from time eternal, has enriched the ages and each being, by ordaining desirable responsibilities onto them, as per their nature and space, and their actions and results thereof.”

Who is a Hindu?

The one has already cognized themselves as per this Isavasya Upanishad verse, or one who is working towards altering their cognition as this Upanishad verse describes about them, is a Hindu.

The religions which want numbers to be their priority, which are used for political power, or a power game on the society, they all give the right, just by birth you belong to that religion. In the Vedic tradition, Hindu tradition, we never used our religion for political power. We will never use our religion for political power. This religion is a spiritual tradition, and it’ll continue to remain as a spiritual tradition, it’ll retain it’s purity.

We never declare just by birth somebody’s Hindu; only by practicing, you become Hindu and belong to Vedic tradition. You don’t need to be born to be Hindu.

Whoever cognizes themselves as consciousness as Upanishads declare in this verse and whoever is trying to cognize themselves as Upanishads declare in this verse, they are Hindus.

Process to internalize the truth of pure consciousness

You are “Pure Consciousness which is all pervasive, beyond the coming and going.” This is what is supposed to be your cognition about you. Whatever is denying this cognition, what all the other cognitions you are carrying other than this, whatever cognitions are denying you being all-pervasive and beyond the coming and going”, pen down them and find the root of those patterns.

So this (I am Pure Consciousness which is all pervasive, beyond the coming and going) should be my cognition, what else do I have as my experience of me, cognition of me? Where am I denying my experience as Upanishad declares me as me?

Beyond coming and going means birthless, deathless, you don’t come to some place and go away from that place. So what is it which is constantly making you believe you come and go? What is the pattern you need to complete to make you realize you are beyond coming and going? Sit and list those patterns and complete with them.

You will see suddenly in 3, 4 days, you will understand millions of incompletions merging into one or two patterns, into ignorance, into powerlessness, and the powerlessness giving way to powerfulness.

Internalizing itself leads you to liberation!
