AOL to recycle temple waste into manure | Times of India

Ranchi: The Art of Living (AOL) International Centre has submitted a proposal to the Raghubar Das government for working towards solid waste management of temples in the state.
Bimal Kishore Sinha, chairman of Jharkhand AOL bureau of communication, said on Tuesday, “Every day, a huge amount of flowers, bel patra and many other things are offered at temples which are later thrown away. We want to recycle them to make manure and herbal colours.”
Initially, a proposal for solid waste management in four temples were submitted including temples like Baidyanath Dham at Deoghar, Basukinath, Rajrappa temple in Ramgarh and Pahari Mandir in Ranchi .
This apart, the organisation is also aiming to promote organic farming in the state. Spiritual leader and founder of AOL, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, is expected to arrive on a four-day visit on March 1. “State agriculture minister Randhir Kumar Singh will meet Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on March 1 when he will be in Deoghar and discuss the scope and practice of organic farming,” Sinha said.
In Deoghar, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is likely to hold a session with 10,000 farmers, including 7,000 women farmers and discuss their problems.
From Deoghar, the spiritual leader will visit Dhanbad on March 2 and arrive in Ranchi on March 3, where he would be meeting chief minister Raghubar Das.
