The reconstruction of Siva temple at Jakaram village in Jayashankar Bhupalapally district, a protected monument of the Department of Archaeology and Museums, will commence from Friday.
The temple comprising garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum), antarala and closed mandapa with porches on three sides is dated to second quarters of 13th century.
As the temple was in a dilapidated condition, it was dismantled for reconstruction, according to the Director, Archaeology and Museums. During the financial year 2015-16, the foundation of the temple was strengthened and the government recently allotted ₹1 crore for its reconstruction under State Normal Plan.
Minister for Archaeology and Tourism Azmeera Chandulal will be present to mark the commencement of the reconstruction work.

The Department of Archaeology and Museums is also taking up conservation works of Panchakuta temple at Ramanujapur village in Bhupalapally district and Trikuta temple at Kondaparthi, Inavolu mandal in Warangal (Urban).
