TTD Executive Officer D. Sambasiva Rao on Saturday directed the Annaprasadam officials to chalk out an action plan to prepare more delicious dishes, with better hygiene, to cater to the multitude of devotees visiting the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara.
Reviewing the activities of Annaprasadam Trust at the TTD’s administrative building, here on Saturday, Mr. Rao urged the officials concerned to focus on providing more tasty ‘Annaprasadam’ to devotees, prepared in an enhanced hygienic environment and building on their self-reliance.
He said that by the end of 2016-17 financial year, the donations to the S.V. Annaprasadam Trust would reach ₹800 crore.
With regard to recent changes, Mr. Sambasiva Rao also said that the devotees could donate their largesse in cash for rice and ‘Annaprasadams’ during occasions such as wedding anniversaries, birthdays and other memorable events.
“The donations can be made in the form of cheque, DDs, e-Donation etc., to the S.V. Annaprasadam Trust and avail tax exemption,” the TTD Executive Officer said.
Invests gold

Meanwhile, the TTD has invested approximately 970 kg of gold in State Bank of India (SBI). The gold, including interest, which had matured during March 2016 in SBI was received by the TTD along with a certificate issued by the bank. The temple management has once again re-invested with the same bank at 1% in short term gold deposit under the Gold Monetisation Scheme.
