Pakistani Sindhi Hindus to get Indian citizenship – The Hindu

The Centre will set up a four-day camp here to grant Indian citizenship to the Sindhi Hindus who migrated to India from Pakistan between 1971 and 2009.

“Sindhi Hindus who had come from Pakistan between 1971 and 2009 have to submit forms. It will be accepted at the camp to be held here from June 12-15,” a district administration official said. He said that the application forms will be divided into three categories.

Those who migrated during 1971-1990 period will have to submit ‘green colour’ form, those who have come to India from the neighbouring country between 1991 and 2000 will have to submit ‘yellow colour’ form, while those from 2000-2009 period will have to furnish ‘white’ colour forms, he said.

The All India Sindhi-Hindu Society said that nearly 35,000 Sindhis from Pakistan were living as refugees in M.P. Of these, 15,000 live in Indore and Bhopal. — PTI
