Holi Celebrated In Shree Mandira In Puri Of Odisha

On the grand trunk road, the Badadanda of Puri, many devotees were seen offering prayer to their cherished God, Lord Jagannath with raised hands, Kalinga TV has reported.

Puri: Holi, the colour of festival was celebrated in Puri Jagannath temple in Odisha on Tuesday. Devotees congregated in huge numbers to the abode of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra in the holy town to have a glimpse of the God on this auspicious day.

Lord Jagannath is the incarnation of Lord Krishna. So Holi festival is celebrated with great devotion in Puri Jagannath temple,like it is celebrated in Mathura, Vrindavan.

The small idols of deities Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra,and Devi Subhadra come out of the temple with the idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Saraswati, to play Holi with the devotees.

Small dunes of ‘abira‘ (Holi Colours) were also seen kept decorated on several pots for Holi. The whole arrangement created beautiful images.
