Reportedly, unknown miscreants attacked the Shiv Shakti Kali Mandir at Gatebazar in Siliguri on Tuesday morning, and in an act of vulgar barbarism, demolished the murti of Goddess Kali inside the temple, causing unrest among the Hindus in the area.

According to sources, the locals visited the temple this morning and noticed that bamboos were placed inside the premises and all the items of the temple were scattered.

The NJP police reached the spot after receiving the news. It has been reported that such incidents have occurred frequently earlier.
