Jul 15, 2020

In yet another act of stifling Hindu minorities from being equal citizen of Pakistan, the Multan Bar Association has passed a resolution to prevent non-Muslims(read Hindus) from partaking in elections of bar council, facebook page, Documenting Crimes Against Hindus has reported.

Pakistan’s constitution calls the country an Islamic country, and persons from Hindu, Christian and other non-Muslim groups are not allowed to becomes the president or the prime minister of the country.

The Islamic republic is also infamous for the persecution of non-Muslim minorities. Recently, stones were pelted and hateful sloganeering carried out outside the Nankana Sahib, a Sikh religious place.

While the abduction of Hindu girls and murders of Hindu leaders are carried out with impunity in Pakistan, it will be perilous if Hindu community is deprived of even legal representation and recourse. In such case, CAA is much needed for legally persecuted Hindus of Pakistan.
