Four members of Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh Sentenced to death for the murder of a Hindu priest

On February 21, 2016, Jageshwar Roy, 50, a Hindu priest, was murdered and Gopal Chandra Roy, 35, a devotee, was shot in an attack by armed assailants in Debiganj upazila, facebook page, Documennting Crimes Against Hindus has reported.

Debiganj upazila, Bangladesh: Rajshahi court sentenced four members of the banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) to death for the murder of a Hindu priest in Panchagarh in 2016.

The convicted are Jahangir Hossain alias Rajib Gandhi, also plotter of the Holey Artisan Cafe attack, Rajibul Islam Molla alias Badal, Alamgir Hossain, and Ramzan Ali.

Rajshahi’s Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge Anup Kumar delivered the verdict at 11am on Sunday, with three of the convicted at the dock and Rajibul absconding.

On February 21, 2016, Jageshwar Roy, 50, a Hindu priest, was murdered and Gopal Chandra Roy, 35, a devotee, was shot in an attack by armed assailants in Debiganj upazila.

Two devotees were also injured in the incident when the criminals fired shots and exploded improvised explosive devices while fleeing.
