Three Asthadhatu Idols of Lord Ram, Lakshman and Sita stolen in Purnia, Biihar

A special team under SDO ,Anand Kr. Pandey, has been made to investigate the case but there’s been no significant success so far, facebook page, Documenting Crimes Against Hindus has reported.

Three 1927 ashtadhatu idols of Rama, Lakshman and Sita each were stolen from a temple located near Rajni Chowk in Purnia , Bihar. According to an estimate, the idols are worth Rs. 2 crores in international market.

A special team under SDO ,Anand Kr. Pandey, has been made to investigate the case but there’s been no significant success so far.

The police, however, claims to have major leads in the case. A forensic team from Patna has handed over the fingerprint reports from the place of theft to the police. Further investigations are being carried out on the basis of a cctv footage from 12 March, 2:48 am which shows some suspects passing by in a van. They can be seen loitering around the place of incident.

The SDO also informed that they have been conducting raids in the neighbouring districts and are confident of grabbing the thieves soon. They have detained the priest of the temple ,Murari Bapu, on the statement of some local residents and are investigating his role in the incident.
