Sri Rangnatha temple has cancelled its rathyatra ceremony, scheduled on Wednesday, amid the fears of possible corona virus outbreak.
Rangnatha temple’s priest, Purshotam Swami, said the decision to cancel the rath yatra was taken to avoid large gatherings amid fears of corona virus infection. He said that fireworks scheduled for the yatra have also been cancelled.
The Sri Krishna Janamsthan temple authorities have also issued directions to priests to maintain distance of at least a meter from devotees and avoid taking a garland directly.

In an order, secretary of the temple Kapil Sharma said the temple priests should not participate in any rituals organized by any individual and avoid going out of the premises except during unavoidable situations. All temple employees have been directed to use mask and avoid social gatherings.
Similarly, Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan issued an advisory, saying that elderly persons, children, and people suffering from infections or any other disease should refrain from visiting temples. Devotees should also avoid mass gatherings.
