Yoga guru Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of its projects — Patanjali Food and Herbal Park, and Patanjali Ayurveda Limited — near Buddh International Circuit along the Yamuna Expressway.
“We have started construction of a 9km boundary wall to be built on the periphery of 430 acres that we have bought for our food park project. We have decided to build six food parks including one in the Yamuna Expressway area in the next 500 days, with a total investment of ₹5,000 crore,” Acharya Balkrishna of Pantajali Ayurved said. Balkrishna is a close associate of yoga guru Ramdev.
He said that they will bring about a revolution in villages around their plant with yoga and their produce. “We will train the youth, give them jobs and encourage them to stay away from addictions of liquor, cigarette and other substances,” Balkrishna said.
Patanjali Ayurved will also build food parks in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
With a food park near Greater Noida along 165 km Yamuna Expressway, Patanjali Ayurved wants to bridge the demand and supply gap for its products in Delhi-NCR. It aims to rope in local farmers on a contractual basis to procure raw materials such as milk, cow urine, wheat and vegetables.
