A temple for Lord Krishna on the lines of the shrine at Guruvayoor in Kerala, was today consecrated on the premises of a private educational institution in the city.
Besides presiding deity Krishna, idols for Lord Ganesha, Muruga, Goddess Bhagavathi Amman and Navagrahas, were also installed amid chanting of mantras and psalms by priests.
Installation ceremony was held on the premises of the Sri Krishna institutions on Palakkad highway here after performing various rituals.
State Municipal Administration Minister S P Velumani, District Collector T N Hariharan, Corporation Commissioner Vijaykathieyan and Chairperson of Sri Krishna Institutions, S Malarvizhi led the devotees in offering worship.
The temple builtup area is 20,600 sq.Ft in 4.2 acres, also comprising a hall, dining hall and garden.
