Corona Virus updaes: Isckon bans entry of foreigners in Vrindavan Temple

After 29 persons, including six from Agra, tested positive for Corona Virus in India, the international Society for Krishna Consciounes (ISCKON) temple management in Vrindavan has decided to ban the entry of foreigners inside the temple, TOI reports

Agra: Amid the Corona Virus scare in the country, the international Society for Krishna Consciousness, Vrindavan has decided to ban the entry of foreigners inside the temple.

The famous Holi celebrations by widows in Vrindavan, which was scheduled to be held on March 7 also got cancelled due to the same reasons.

“Due to the rapid spread of the virus across the globe, the temple management has decided not to allow foreigners inside the premises as a precautionary measure,” Iskcon Mathura spokesperson Rajiv Lochan said.

Hev said that Isckon had devotees from all over the world, who come every year to Vrindavan to take part in Gaura Purnima Ustav.

He further added, “We have already made the announcement so that the visitors can change their plan.”

The director of ISCKON, Saurav das said that they cannot take risk as large number of Brahmacharis stay together at ISCKON.

However they have urged the devotees to have a medical check-up and obtain a certificate before entering the temple premises.

He also added that temple may face some financial loss due to less number of devotees, they cannot take risk as far as the health of devotees is concerned.
